A New Protected Area Established in Samegrelo - Egrisi National Park

Egrisi National Park has been established in the municipalities of Tsalenjikha, Chkhorotsku, and Martvili, covering a total area of 37,074 hectares.

Egrisi National Park belongs to the Colchic biogeographical region and is distinguished by its unique flora and fauna. Thanks to its favorable climatic conditions, the area has preserved ancient vegetation known as the Colchic flora. The park is also home to narrow local endemic species found exclusively in Samegrelo.
