Boundary demarcation works have been completed in the Kvereti Managed Reserve. In connection with the completion of the process, a working meeting with relevant stakeholders was held at the Sachkhere Municipality City Hall.

As a result of the demarcation works, the boundaries of the protected area have been accurately defined, enabling local residents to register ownership of land plots that became part of the protected area’s boundaries following its establishment, and to manage or dispose of these properties at their discretion.

The demarcation process covered approximately 15,000 hectares. During the works, privately owned land plots, active religious sites, electricity transmission towers, and other infrastructure facilities that are not characteristic of the protected area were excluded from its boundaries.

Boundary demarcation is carried out following the establishment of every new protected area or the expansion of an existing one.

The Kvereti Managed Reserve, located in the Sachkhere Municipality of the Upper Imereti region, was established in 2023.
