Agency of Protected Areas takes part in 19^th International Tourist Exhebition that will be opened on 27^th of April at Expo Georgia and will be continued till 29^th of April.

Book presentation Explore Algeti National Park

Book presentation Explore Algeti National Park had been held at Algeti National Park, dedicated to Book International Day. Event had attended by Deputy Chairman of the Agency of Protected Areas Giorgi Chkheidze, head of Planning and Developing Unit Nata Sultanishvili and director of Algeti National Park Avtandil Mchedlidze. Schoolchildren who took part in book creation process were awarded with certificates. The event had been attended by the painter Zaal Sulakauri, who had been invited as a special guest due to children’s request. He created caricature paintings on place.

Chamois has been appeared at the territory of Lagodekhi Protected Areas

In the first time of history, chamois has appeared at the territory of  Lagodekhi Protected Areas.

Announcement of the Agency of Protected Areas

 Tbilisi National Park’s ranger Beso Asatashvili revealed illegal logging on 24^th of February. Administrative offense had been composed, after that the offender’s son insulted the ranger. Beso Asatashvili had been transferred to the clinic.

Grant Agreement for Lagodekhi Protected Areas

Grant Agreement has been signed between Agency of Protected Areas and Caucasus Nature Fund, that has been signed by the Minister of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia.

Public discussions

Tbilisi National Park’s Management Plan had been discussed at the Agency of Protected Areas. The above plan had been prepared in the frame of the law “ About Protected Areas System” and covers 6 years. 

Protected Areas' System Development

Seven years project directed by the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia and United Nation’s Development Program concerned protected areas’ sustainable financial situation’s securing had been finished. Conclusive meeting had been held at Rooms Hotel Tbilisi. The meeting had been held by the Minister of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia Gigla Agulashvili and United Nations Development Program’s Resident Coordinator Niels Scott. The project had been implemented by the financial support of GEF and UNDP, and cooperated by CNF and TJS. In the frame of the program infrastructural projects had been implemented in 10 protected areas.

Kazbegi National Park’s expansion project

Agency of Protected Areas and consulting group GFA organized meeting at Hotel Raddison Blu Iveria, where discussed Khazbegi National Park’s expansion issue. 

Report of internal audit

A meeting had been organized by the department of Internal Audit  that been attended by the Heads of the organizations  and Chairman of the Agency of Protected Areas Lasha Moistsrapishvili and Deputy Chairman Vakhtang Tukvadze  at the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia.

Protected Areas’ Friends’ Association Forum had been held at Hotel Courtyard Marriot, where Deputy Minister of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia Ekaterine Grigalava and Chairman of the Agency of Protected Areas Lasha Moistsrapishvili addressed to participants. 

Media Seminar

Chairman of the Agency of Protected Areas Lasha Moistsrapishvili held a presentation for media representatives in the frame of Forest Week, in Borjom-Kharagauli National Park’s visitors’ center. Main topics of the presentation were Agency of Protected Areas’ achievements and challenges.

Pasture Management plan had been implemented

Sum up meeting of the project Mitigation and adaptation benefits and dividends for local communities had been held at hotel Radisson Blu Iveria. Deputy Minister of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia Ekaterine Grigalava thanked project organizations for the assistance and emphasized importance of local community.
