Agency of Protected Areas taking part in ongoing international tourism fair ITB Berlin

ITB Berlin is one of the biggest international tourism fair, that holding every year in Berlin, Germany.
Agency of Protected Areas taking part in the above fair in the frame of TJS’ project and by the financial support of BMZ, through KfW and by the participation of World Wildlife Fund (WWF).
The fair includes tourism’s all directions, including eco-tourism, which is one of the main component of Protected Areas. It has to be mentioned that during last year foreign visitors entrance the Protected Areas of Georgia has been increased, according to the statistics, 181 329 foreigners visited Protected Areas of Georgia, out of them German visitors are leading top 5 list. Agency is planning to take part in international tourism fairs and exhibitions, in order to promote Protected Areas of Georgia. Eco and adventurous tourism is the future of industry.
At the exhibition, separate hall is specially arranged for the organizations working with this above direction. I think Georgia and generally South Caucasus has the biggest potential to develop eco tourism. – said Chairman of the Agency of Protected Areas Lasha Moistsrapishvili
