APA Donors Coordination Meeting

On December 20, 2013 through the initiative of the Agency of Protected Areas the donor coordination meeting was held at Radisson Blu Iveria Hotel. The purpose of the meeting was to present the list of activities carried out by the Agency during the year of 2013 and to introduce the future activities to be implemented in 2014. 

The event was led by the Chairman of the APA Mr. Rati japaridze, who made a presentation about those projects that have been accomplished by the Agency with the support of the donor organizations, such as: writing management plans for Protected Areas as needed, development of eco touristic infrastructure at National Parks, biodiversity conservation measures and etc. The first Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection Ms. Nino Sharashidze made a welcome speech.

Among the invited guests were partner organizations and potential donors of the Agency – the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), US Department of the Interior - Internationla Technical Assistance (USDoI-ITAP), United Nations Development Program (UNDP), European Union representatives in Georgia (EU), Caucasus Nature Fund (CNF), German Reconstruction and Development Bank (KfW), World Wine nature Fund (WWF), the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), Trasboundary Joint Secretariat (TJS) and representatives of other International Organizations based in Georgia.

The meeting was conducted in an interactive mode; the donors had a possibility to get acquainted with major highlights in 2013 and to learn on activities planned for 2014.
