The Chairman of APA visits Stepantsminda

On February 10, the Chairman of the Agency of Protected Areas Rati Japaridze held a meeting with the Head of Municipal Committee Zaza Alibegashvili during which the issue of construction of a new joint PA and tourist informational building was discussed. The meeting was attended by the Kazbegi Governor Shalva Eloshvili, Deputy Mirian Tsiklauri, Deputy Head of Municipal Committee Vazha Chkareuli and the Director of Kazbegi NP Otar Tsamalaidze.   

As a result of the mentioned initiative and a new systematized building, visitors and guests of the region will have the better and easier access to the services offered in Kazbegi such as obtain information about nearby guesthouses, unique nature monuments, biodiversity of the region. Besides, they will be able to hire some local guides or drivers and plan the journey in a more comfortable and civil way.

As of today, the territorial Administrative building of APA is located away from the town center, while there is no representation of Tourism Administration in the region at all. During the meeting it was deiced to switch the locations of the local commissariat and APA buildings, as a result of which the joint, APA and GNTA information center will be located in the central part of Stepantsminda, on the opposite side of Al. Kazbegi Statue.   

It should be mentioned that the same practice will be observed in Kobuleti and Akhalkalaki where the Administrative buildings and Tourism Information Centers will be located in one joint building.
