Demarcation works are underway in the Kvereti Managed Reserve across an area of 14 779 hectares

Demarcation works are underway in the Kvereti Managed Reserve across an area of 14 779 hectares.

Establishing precise boundaries will enable local residents to register as private property and manage, as they wish, those land plots that came within the park’s boundaries following the establishment of the national park.

During the demarcation process, privately owned land plots, active religious buildings, electricity transmission towers, and other infrastructural objects that are not characteristic of protected areas are being separated from the boundaries of the protected territory.

Demarcation works are carried out after the creation of every new protected area or the expansion of an existing one.

The Kvereti Managed Reserve was established in 2023 in the Sachkhere Municipality.
