Signing  of  a renewed Grant Agreement between Caucasus Nature Fund and the Agency of Protected Areas

On February 28, 2014, at 14:00 the signing ceremony of an updated grant agreement between the Minister of Environment and Natural Resources Protection Ms. Khatuna Gogaladze, the Director of the Caucasus Nature Fund (CNF) Mr. David Morrison, and the Chairman of the Agency of Protected Areas Mr. Rati Japaridze took place at the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection. According to the previous agreement CNF aimed to provide 50% of health and life insurance to all employees of the administrative units of Protected Areas during the period 2013-2014. The amount of funds allocated was 67,850 Euros.

In addition to this, according to the renewed agreement, the Caucasus Nature Fund undertakes the responsibility of covering all operating costs directed towards facilitating development activities at Lagodekhi Protected Areas during the years of 2014-2016. These activities include salary supplements, infrastructure maintenance, financing of existing costs, updating equipment and vehicles, as well as other important issues. 

The Caucasus Nature Fund has been cooperating with the Agency of Protected Areas for years and contributes to not only the development of infrastructure, but also the improvement of employees' motivation and encouragement of their efforts.
