Grant Competition Announced for Residents Living Near Kvereti Managed Reserve
Applications are now open for the grant competition “Supporting the Development of Traditional Winemaking.” The competition will be implemented in three stages.
The competition is open to permanent residents of the villages of Orghuli, Drbo, Speti, Savane, Chikhi, Skhvitori, and Kvereti in Sachkhere Municipality.
The aim of the competition is to strengthen the economic opportunities of local communities by promoting biodiversity conservation in Kvereti Managed Reserve and encouraging the sustainable use of natural resources.
The competition is organized by the Agency of Protected Areas within the framework of the project “Biodiversity and Local Sustainable Development in Georgia.” The project is financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the German Development Bank (KfW).
The first stage of the competition will take place on 10 July 2026 at 12:00 PM** in the Sachkhere Municipal Council Building**.
