Deputy Chairman of the Agency of Protected Areas Dimitri Beridze, and Chairwoman’s advisor Amiran Kodiashvili held a meeting with the experts Jana Michalkova, Jan Doucek, and Marika Bokeria, thery work within the direction of geoparks. Geopark is a territory that’s one of the main issue is to raise awareness within geological heritage. Creation of geopark facilitates as regional development as well tourism field on a
specific territory. Under the patronage of UNESCO, geopark national network is created where united 22 counties, totally 64 members. On the example of Czech geoparks, it is also possible in Georgia to create geopark with the financial support of the Czech Development Agency. Above will facilitate Tourism Development which by itself will develop Georgian economic. It is also planned in future to organize such kind of meetings.
