Roe deer reintroduction process in Mtirala National Park

The Minister of the Environment and Nature Protection of Georgia, Ms. Khatuna Gogaladze, together with the Chairman of the Agency of Protected Areas, Mr. Rati Japaridze, participated in the roe deer reintroduction process, which took place at Mtirala National Park.

This action is one of the best examples of biodiversity conservation and will contribute towards fauna protection and raise public awareness of this fundamentally important topic. The lost roe deer were found in different places by local inhabitants in Adjara and were brought to the Batumi 6 May Park. The eldest is 3 years old, and the youngest is about one and a half years old. After evaluating them to ensure that they were healthy, the roe deer were returned to their natural habitat with the help and support of the park’s employees.
