New Trail at Tbilisi National Park

Chairman of the Agency of Protected Areas Lasha Moistsrapishvili, together with Switzerland Mission representative Florian Gubler and Head of the non-governmental organization Green Borjomi Natia Muladze visited newly marked trail at Tbilisi National Park. In February 2016, a grant agreement had been signed between Swiss and Georgian parties at the Embassy of Switzerland. 35 000 GEL grant had been allocated for trail arrangement, preparatory works started in March and officially trail will be opened in August.

It is the first international standard hiking trail at Tbilisi National Park, which is connecting Mamkoda and Saguramo. Trail starts from village Mamkoda, passes Vegini Valley, Didveli and finishes in Saguramo. It is possible to pass the trail in one day, though camping area is arranged along the trail, where visitors have possibility to stay there at night.

Trail arrangement had been financed by Swiss Mission in Georgia, and the works are being implemented by the non-governmental organization Green Borjomi. Currently, the trail is cleaned up and marked, picnic and camping spots arranged, interpretation and information boards will be installed in near future.
