Rati Japaridze visits Hiking Camp Iglu

On January 13th, the Chairman of the Agency of Protected Areas (APA) Rati Japaridze visited outdoor youth camp Iglu in Mtskheta, organized by the National Hiking Federation. The Camp Iglu is a two-day event arranged every once in a week and will last until an opening of a new hiking season in spring. Young participants of this camp have a possibility to attend interesting lectures, get acquainted with theoretical and practical specifications of hiking and trekking in the nature, try out new extreme attraction, such as Zipline and enjoy nice atmosphere accompanied by music.

Rati Japaridze discussed the history and importance of Protected Areas in Georgia, talked about the hiking possibilities and trails existing in the National Parks and suggested them to visit Protected Areas in order to better understand the significance of protecting the natural heritage. The participants asked questions to APA Chairman on the topic of their interest. The meeting was first of such nature between the Hikers Federation and the APA and it is expected even closer cooperation with the coming of the hiking season.
