The Agency of Protected Areas Receives a 200 000 dollars grant from Global Conservation to develop Racha National Park

The grant agreement was signed between the Agency of Protected Areas and Global Conservation, a foundation established under the laws of the United States of America.

Under the agreement, the Agency of Protected Areas will receive a grant of 200 000 dollars for strengthening the effectiveness of park and wildlife protection of Racha National Park over the next 3 years.

The grant agreement envisages the implementation of relevant activities related to the development of the newly established Racha National Park and its Administration, specifically, the deployment of Global Park Defense, equipping rangers with the necessary technologies, which ensures effective patrolling, prompt detection of poaching and reveal illegal logging, providing training to Park Rangers and Administration in park and wildlife protection using modern technologies and systems.

The Agency of Protected Areas has successfully cooperated with the Global Conversation for many years to ensure effectiveness and wildlife protection in Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park.
It should be noted that for the development of Racha National Park, along with other new protected areas, in the coming years, the German Development Bank (KfW) plans to invest 16.25 million euros, and the Caucasus Nature Fund (CNF) and the Wyss Foundation will invest approximately 2,500,000 million GEL
