First Snowshoe Hiking Tour in Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park

Last weekend the group of twelve amateur hikers visited Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park. During their two-day journey they had the possibility to be the first visitors to try out the new service introduced in the Park - snowshoeing activity. The hikers used one of the tourist trails at BKNP and climbed the Amarati snowy mountain peak as a result. Snowshoe is an oval-shaped plate attached to the bottom of the regular shoe, just like skis and prevents feet from sticking while walking in the deep snow.

Starting from this week, the rental of snowshoes will be offered at BKNP. The rental price for a pair of snowshoes is Gel 15 per day and Gel 10 for the each additional day. Tourist shelter existing along the Romanov’s tourist trail in Borjomi-Kharagauli is well equipped with wood stoves and is open for the public to use it throughout the winter season.
