Stage I of the grant competition has been announced for residents living adjacent to the Racha Protected Areas.
In the first stage, interested individuals must submit an idea for developing family-based ecotourism activities (including guesthouses, agritourism, tourist services, and more). Additionally, applicants should provide materials reflecting the current state of the idea (e.g., photos, a brief description of existing resources, information about the space and capabilities, etc.).
Selection of initial project ideas will take place on the day of the competition. Subsequent site visits (if applicable) will be conducted in the following days by a project representative.
Local residents of the Gomi community in Oni Municipality—specifically the villages of Gomi and Jinchvisi—are eligible to participate in the competition.
The grant competition was announced by the Agency of Protected Areas within the framework of the project "Biodiversity and Sustainable Local Development in Georgia" (BSLD), with financial and technical support from the German Government.
Public presentation of Stage I: January 29, 2026
Location: Village Jinchvisi Social Space
Application submission deadline: No later than January 28, 2026
