In the first quarter of 2026, rangers of the Agency of Protected Areas detected 117 cases of violations.
The detected cases involve prohibited activities within protected areas, including illegal logging, hunting, fishing, carrying firearms, and illegal grazing.
Nearly 500 rangers patrol Georgia's protected areas 24 hours a day, safeguarding more than 13% of the country's territory.
For effective monitoring, rangers utilize various modern technologies, including SMART systems, camera traps, and thermal drones, which contribute to the prevention, timely detection, and swift response to violation incidents.
