A delegation from the Agency of Protected Areas visited the Republic of Korea to share experiences and learn best practices.
During the visit, members of the delegation toured Bukhansan and Seoraksan National Parks, familiarizing themselves firsthand with modern management approaches, biodiversity conservation, ecotourism development, and climate change monitoring directions.
Meetings were held with representatives of the Korea National Parks Service (KNPS). Discussions focused on the long-standing successful cooperation between the agencies and future plans. The parties reviewed issues related to satellite monitoring systems, innovative visitor management practices, disaster and safety management mechanisms, as well as endangered species recovery programs.
Members of the Georgian delegation visited the Kazbegi National Park corner. Notably, in 2024, a memorandum was signed between representatives of Georgia and the Republic of Korea on the twinning of Kazbegi and Bukhansan National Parks.
The Agency of Protected Areas and the Korea National Parks Service (KNPS) share a long-standing partnership.
Within the framework of this partnership, the Korean side has provided significant technical support to the Agency, periodically supplying fire trucks, high-tech drones, two-way radios, and other specialized equipment, thereby strengthening the management capabilities of the protected areas.
