On June 5, as part of the events dedicated to World Environment Day, the Agency of Protected Areas was represented in Dedaena Garden with a diverse exhibition space.
Photo stands depicting Georgia's unique protected areas were placed in specially arranged areas, various informational and educational installations were set up, and visitors had the opportunity to travel through Georgia's protected areas using virtual reality headsets.
An award ceremony for the winners of the Agency of Protected Areas' eco-educational project competition, "I Protect My Country's Nature," was held within the framework of the event.
This year, World Environment Day focuses special attention on the importance of climate change mitigation.
The role of protected areas in this process is paramount, as they serve as one of the primary guarantees for preserving biodiversity and protecting ecosystems.
