The Agency of Protected Areas Joined Georgia's Independence Day Celebrations in Poti with Diverse Activities

On May 26, organized by the Government of Georgia, events dedicated to Georgia's Independence Day are held nationwide under the unified concept: "1700 Years of Faith Empower Us - Love Unites Us."

As part of the festive events, the Agency of Protected Areas of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture offered various educational and entertainment activities to visitors at the central square in the city of Poti.

The Agency of Protected Areas was represented across several themes: educational, entertaining, cultural, and exhibition. In a specially arranged space, visitors had the opportunity to take a virtual tour of Georgia's unique protected areas; informational stands on Georgia's protected areas and national parks were also presented. Notably, the Samegrelo region in Georgia is home to a number of protected areas of international significance.

Throughout the day, the central square of Poti hosted musical and theatrical performances, children's entertainment activities, and an exhibition-fair of handmade items by local entrepreneurs.

At 5:10 PM, the exact time when Georgia's independence was declared in 1918, the Georgian national anthem was performed. The festive events concluded with a grand gala concert.

To mark Independence Day, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture was also represented in the cities of Ambrolauri and Rustavi. A Georgian wine space was set up in Ambrolauri, while various activities were organized by the Rural Development Agency in the city of Rustavi.
