An eco-educational meeting about protected areas was held for youth.
Within the framework of the memorandum of cooperation signed between the Agency of Protected Areas and the Youth Agency, an eco-educational meeting was held for participants of a thematic youth camp.
Participants received information regarding the creation and management of protected areas, as well as their importance and the necessity of their protection. Special attention was devoted to the role of rangers and their daily activities, including patrolling protected areas, monitoring wildlife, preventing fires, and responding to various challenges.
The youth also learned about modern technologies and equipment used by rangers during nature conservation and monitoring processes in protected areas.
Through these eco-educational meetings, young people have the opportunity to become better acquainted with Georgia's natural heritage, learn about the importance of environmental protection, and actively engage in raising environmental awareness themselves.
Similar meetings will continue in the future and cover various regions of Georgia. The initiative aims to create new educational opportunities for youth, raise their awareness on environmental issues, and increase youth involvement in nature conservation processes.
The memorandum of cooperation signed between the Agency of Protected Areas and the Youth Agency specifically provides for the implementation of youth and educational initiatives, experience sharing, and the creation of new opportunities for young people.
