LEPL Agency of Protected Areas

The project aimed to develop Pshav-Khevsureti National Park; expand and develop Kazbegi and Algeti National Parks; develop and recategorize Kintrishi Protected Areas; improve the management of natural resources and protected areas in preselected locations; and enhance the socioeconomic conditions of communities living in adjacent areas.

Within the framework of the project, Pshav-Khevsureti National Park was established, and administration buildings and visitor centres were constructed for Kazbegi and Algeti National Parks. Inventory, equipment, and vehicles were procured for the administrations. Protected area boundaries were demarcated, management plans were developed, ecotourism development strategies for protected areas were prepared, and other activities were carried out.
