Bukhansan National Park, Kazbegi National Park

Bukhansan National Park is distinguished by its huge granite peaks and forest massifs, which were formed over millions of years through natural erosion and geological processes. The park's name, "Bukhansan," means "mountain north of Han River" (or "mountain to the north").

The temperature reaches an average of up to 30°C in the summer months, while dropping to -10°C in winter. The climate changes sharply with the change of seasons, replacing hot and humid summer days with dry, freezing weather and snowy peaks in winter.

Bukhansan National Park Spanning 79.9 km², it is listed in the Guinness World Records as the "Most Visited National Park per Unit Area." The national park is home to over 1,300 species of plants and animals, including more than 100 species of birds, Asian badgers, wild boars, squirrels, and foxes. Amphibians and reptiles are represented by various species of frogs, salamanders, and snakes.

Bukhansan National Park is rich in cultural and historical heritage, housing over 100 historical temples and an ancient fortress wall (Bukhansanseong), making it a very attractive and interesting place from a historical and spiritual perspective.

The friendship and cooperation between Kazbegi National Park and Bukhansan National Park, which was strengthened in 2024 through a sisterhood/twinning agreement, is based on the protection of high-mountain ecosystems, biodiversity monitoring, and sharing experiences in sustainable visitor management.
