Kazbegi National Park

Year:
Kazbegi National Park is located in a historical gorge on the northern slopes of the Caucasus Range. Its total area is 78,543.4 ha. Only 35% of the national park is covered with forest, the rest is occupied by alpine meadows, moraines, permanently snow-capped peaks and inaccessible cliffs. The cliffs and mountains of the national park are a refuge for many rare and unique species of animals and birds. Kazbegi National Park is mountainous and its lowest point is located at 1,400 m above sea level.

Kazbegi National Park, despite the lack of tourist infrastructure, is one of the most visited places among the protected areas of Georgia.
