Signing of a Grant Agreement

European Diploma for Vashlovani Protected Areas
On March 24, 2014, meeting of the Group of Specialists on the European Diploma of Protected Areas initiated by the Council of Europe was held in Strasbourg, France. The aim of the meeting was to discuss and identify different protected areas to be granted with the European Diploma.

Tender for the Construction of Javakheti National Park Visitor’s Center
Within the framework of the project of Establishing the Javakheti National Park carried out at the Agency of Protected Areas of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia, the Javakheti Protected Areas Administrative and Visitor’s center building is planned to be constructed in Akhalkalaki.

Fire Broke out on the Territory of Vashlovani PA Traditional Use Zone
According to the reports of Vashlovani Protected Areas Administration, on February 21, 2014, fire broke out on the territory of traditional use zone of Vashlovani National Park, in the Natlistskali Valley, as a result of which about 700 hectares of grass cover of the grazing land has bed destroyed.
